What you're about to read is a collection of pointers to some of the music I've discovered on the iTunes Music Store, music I like enough that I want to share it. If you're an iPod owner and an iTunes fan (and if you aren't, what are you doing here?), maybe you'll find something new. Click on any of the CD covers to bounce over to the store and sample a few tracks. And then maybe stop by my other blog for a few well chosen words (and maybe a random snark or two).RSS feed

Whipped Cream & Other Delights / Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass
Whipped Cream & Other Delights Oh, such memories...

How many copies of Whipped Cream & Other Delights were sold for that racy album cover? Pretty wild stuff for 1965, even if all that shaving cream (whipped cream couldn't stand up to those hot studio lights) both preserved model Dolores Erickson's modesty and hid her pregnant state. And it would go on to inspire others. Like Pat Cooper, whose Spaghetti Sauce & Other Delights cover inspired a rather different set of feelings. I'm just grateful I didn't know about The Frivolous Five until now.

What? I didn't say anything about the music on the album? As if anybody cares about that...

Just the Tracks, Ma'am: The Warner Bros. Recordings / Jack Webb
Just the Tracks, Ma'am I guess Shatner wasn't the first. Still a pretty bad idea, though.
