PDT Please, Carly Simon was doing standards years if not decades ago! Well before Rod Stewart though about recording standards in a last-hope effort to rescue his sagging career. Perhaps I'm not the biggest fan of Carly Simon (she hit her peak in the 70s), but she can carry a tune even if her voice is lacking in emotion and expression. This is a CD to get if you're a big Carly Simon fan, but if you are starting out looking for great performances of standards, stick to the professionals! |
