PDT if you like this album, i would suggest that you take a few steps back on ani. her more recent work just isn't as good as her older work (imho). take a listen to "not a pretty girl" and "dilate". somewhere in between those two records is when i feel ani was doing her best work. interesting that you reference alanis morrisette, as the industry was really pushing her, jewel, and sarah mclaughlin when "not a pretty girl" came out. the public missed an opportunity to hear the *real deal* in ani. |

PDT if you like knuckle down you need to check out evolve and educated guess (two of my ABSOLUTE favorite ani albums) her earlier work is fabulous, i love reckoning/revelling but imperfectly is my favorite classic ani. the rest you just need to sample like "dog coffee" and other to see if early ani is for you. for sure you need to check out evolve. :) |
